Amaravati, 23rd Sept. In a scathing attack, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy labeled Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu a “habitual liar,” urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the ongoing Tirupati laddu adulteration controversy. In a detailed eight-page letter, Jagan accused Naidu of undermining the beliefs of millions for political gain.

Jagan outlined the standard procedures followed by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), the authority managing the renowned Sri Venkateswara Swamy shrine, for accepting ghee. He expressed that Naidu’s actions have tarnished the reputation of public office and the sanctity of TTD.

“Sir, the entire country looks to you at this crucial juncture. It is imperative that Mr. Naidu be reprimanded in the severest way for his shameless act of spreading lies,” Jagan wrote. He emphasized the need to restore faith among Hindu devotees shaken by Naidu’s statements.

The conflict escalated after Naidu raised allegations during a political meeting on September 18, claiming that the previous YSRCP government used substandard ingredients for the laddus. This was followed by a press conference on September 20, where TTD Executive Officer J Shyamala Rao confirmed lab tests that detected animal fat and lard in samples, prompting the board to consider blacklisting the supplier of the adulterated ghee.
