In a major development, Yashasvi Jaiswal is reportedly set to leave Mumbai and join Goa ahead of the 2025-26 domestic season.

According to The Indian Express, the left-handed batter has formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), citing personal reasons for his decision. The MCA has acknowledged receiving Jaiswal’s request.

“He has applied for a NOC, stating personal reasons for his move to Goa,” an MCA source told The Indian Express.

The report also mentions that individuals close to Jaiswal have confirmed his intention to switch teams. Over the years, several Mumbai cricketers, including Arjun Tendulkar and Siddhesh Lad, have moved to Goa for better opportunities.

Jaiswal has been associated with Mumbai cricket since his early years. The southpaw made his Ranji Trophy debut in the 2018-19 season. He gained national attention when he became the youngest player to score a double century in List A cricket, smashing 203 runs against Jharkhand in the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His impressive performances earned him a contract with Rajasthan Royals, where he has been a key player since his debut. His consistency in domestic cricket eventually led to his India debut during the 2023 tour of the West Indies.

Struggles in IPL 2025

Despite being retained by Rajasthan Royals for INR 18 crore, Jaiswal has struggled for form in the ongoing IPL season. In three matches, the RR opener has managed only 34 runs, with scores of 1, 29, and 4.
