Jason Cummings produced a moment of brilliance for Mohun Bagan Super Giant (MBSG) in their ongoing ISL semi-final against Jamshedpur FC (JFC) at the JRD Sports Complex in Jamshedpur.
In the 36th minute, JFC’s Ashutosh Mehta stopped Cummings with a firm challenge during a solo run. The referee showed Ashutosh a yellow card and awarded MBSG a free-kick.
A minute later, Cummings stepped up and delivered a stunning left-footed free-kick. The ball curled over the wall, dipped sharply, and found the top-right corner past JFC goalkeeper Albino Gomes. The wonder strike stunned the home crowd as Mohun Bagan SG equalised. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

Earlier, in the 24th minute, JFC had taken the lead through a Javier Siverio header. Muhammed Uvais launched a long throw towards Stephen Eze, who set up Siverio at the far post. Siverio outjumped Subashish Bose and placed a clinical header into the net.
Many Mohun Bagan fans were surprised to see Jason Cummings in the starting lineup instead of their star striker, Jamie Maclaren, who began on the bench. But with this world-class goal, Cummings proved his worth.
However, in the 34th minute, MBSG came close to the equaliser as their star defender, Alberto Rodrigues hit the post with a header from Greg Stewart’s free-kick. Unfortunately, it did not end up in the nets as Albino managed to keep that ball away. Now, an exciting second half awaits in Jamshedpur.
