US Postal Service Stops Accepting Parcels From China And Hong Kong

Published:

In the latest US-China relationship development, the US Postal Service has temporarily suspended accepting inbound parcels from China and Hong Kong Posts until further notice, the USPS website showed.

The order states, “Effective Feb. 4, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend only international package acceptance of inbound parcels from China and Hong Kong Posts until further notice. Note the flow of letters and flats from China and Hong Kong will not be impacted.”

USPS did not offer a reason for the decision, but it came after US President Donald Trump imposed an additional 10% tariff on all goods imported to the US from China.

And just days after US President Donald Trump signed an executive order that terminated the “de minimis” exemption, a long-standing rule that allowed anyone, including exporters, to ship packages worth less than $800 to the United States without duties or needing to undergo inspections.
