UP Govt Sends Triveni Sangam’s Sacred Water to Germany Amid Global Demand

Published:

Lucknow: In a move to extend the spiritual essence of Maha Kumbh beyond India, the Uttar Pradesh government has dispatched the first international consignment of Triveni Sangam’s sacred water to Germany. The shipment, comprising 1,000 bottles, reflects the growing global demand for the revered water.

According to a government statement, the grand Prayagraj Maha Kumbh (January 13 – February 26) witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with over 66 crore devotees taking a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam. Following the event, the state government, through the Fire Department, facilitated the distribution of this sacred water to all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

“After Maha Kumbh, the UP government resolved to deliver Sangam water as ‘Maha Prasad’ to devotees across the state who could not attend. With rising international interest, the first batch of 1,000 glass bottles has now been sent to Germany,” the statement read.

This initiative was supported by Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Avdheshanand Giri of Shri Panch Dashnam Juna Akhara. The water was packaged and supplied by the Nari Shakti Mahila Prerna Sankul-level committee from Jasra, led by Namita Singh, under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM). Over 50,000 bottles of Triveni water have already been distributed across India, including a shipment to the Shiv Shambhu Group Society in Nagpur.

The Fire Department played a key role in domestic distribution. Additionally, Sant Raja Ramdas of Param Shivam Shiv Mandir Yogashram in Guwahati transported a private tanker to Triveni Sangam, which was filled and sent back to Assam with the assistance of Prayagraj Chief Fire Officer Pramod Sharma.

With growing international recognition, the distribution of Triveni Sangam’s sacred water marks a unique spiritual outreach, strengthening India’s cultural and religious heritage worldwide.
