Shahjahanpur, 21st Oct. The district administration has suspended three officials from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) after complaints surfaced regarding food grains mixed with soil being sent to ration shopkeepers. District Magistrate Dharmendra Pratap Singh confirmed on Monday that the suspensions followed investigations into the matter.
Shopkeepers had reported ongoing disputes with ration recipients over the quality of the grains they received. In response to these complaints, a team, including District Supply Officer Chaman Sharma, was formed to inspect eight local shops. The investigation revealed the presence of soil in the food grain and wheat sacks.
As a result, Inspectors Ramkrishna Dubey, Ravikant Mishra, and Mohit Kumar were suspended from their duties. Singh stated that he has formally recommended action against the officials to the government, emphasizing the seriousness of the issue.
Furthermore, the district magistrate has instructed all ration sellers to ensure the full distribution of rations to beneficiaries. Officials have also been directed to conduct regular inspections of ration shops to maintain quality control.
