Three Army Personnel Killed, Two Injured in Road Accident in J&K’s Bandipora

Bandipora, 4th Jan. Three Army personnel were killed and two others injured when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district, officials confirmed on Saturday.

The accident occurred near SK Payen in north Kashmir, where an Army vehicle fell into a deep gorge. The officials stated that three soldiers lost their lives in the tragic incident, while two others were injured.

The Army’s Chinar Corps took to social media platform X, stating that the vehicle lost control due to inclement weather and poor visibility conditions while the soldiers were on duty in the district. The post further expressed gratitude towards Kashmiri locals who assisted in evacuating the injured soldiers for medical care.

“Tragically, three bravehearts lost their lives in the unfortunate accident. The Indian Army extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families,” the Chinar Corps stated.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed his condolences, mourning the loss of the Army personnel. He said, “Deeply grieved by the loss of lives of Indian Army personnel due to a tragic road accident in Bandipora. The nation is deeply grateful for their service and commitment. My condolences to the bereaved families and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

The injured soldiers have been provided with medical care, and authorities continue to investigate the incident.
