Mumbai- The WhatsApp helpline of Mumbai Traffic Police received a threat message from a Pakistan-based number, warning of a plan to blow up Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ office in Mantralaya, an official said on Thursday.

The message was allegedly sent by an individual identifying himself as Malik Shahbaz Raza. Authorities registered a case at Worli police station and launched an investigation.
According to officials, the threat message was written in English. The Mumbai traffic police helpline has received similar threats in the past.
In November last year, a message threatening actor Salman Khan and demanding ₹5 crore in extortion was received. In December, a threat against Prime Minister Narendra Modi led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Jharkhand resident in Rajasthan.
More recently, on February 21, a message threatening to blow up Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s vehicle resulted in the arrest of two individuals from Buldhana.
Security agencies are actively investigating the latest threat and assessing its credibility.
