Bengaluru’s own, KL Rahul lit up the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium with an unbeaten 93 of 53 balls, leading Delhi Capitals (DC) to a comprehensive victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in today’s match in the IPL 2025. Rahul’s innings was a fine mix of aggression and maturity on a wicket where most of the top batters failed to score from both teams.

“This is my ground, my home, know this (ground) better than anyone else.” -KL Rahul

Especially, after hitting the winning six on the fifth delivery of the 18th over, Rahul came up with a cold celebration which suggests that this is his own ground and it belongs to him. Even, in the post-match press conference, he said: “This is my ground, my home, know this (ground) better than anyone else. Something I have always done with my preparation is that I always try to adapt to different wickets (even in practice).”

This is his back-to-back fifties this season. First, against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), he opened the innings and won the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock of 77 (51). Then, today, again, he was named the Player of the Match for scoring 93* (53) but this knock came while batting at number four. So, it has been a great start for him at his new franchise.

While chasing 164, DC were in a spot of bother after losing three wickets for 30 runs. But, KL Rahul played sensibly and maturely, finishing the game for his team and with this win, DC are now in the second spot at the points table with four wins in four games so far.
