Jaipur, 18th Oct. Ten individuals affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sustained injuries after an attack during a religious program at a temple in Jaipur, police reported on Friday.
The incident occurred on Thursday night during a ‘jagran’ event held in celebration of Sharad Purnima. As prasad was being distributed among devotees, two local residents expressed objections to the late-night festivities, leading to an altercation.
According to authorities, the situation escalated when the two accused called in reinforcements and launched an attack with knives, injuring ten RSS workers. Of those injured, six were hospitalized at Sawai Man Singh Hospital for treatment.
Police have detained one of the accused, Naseeb Chaudhary, along with his son, and efforts are underway to apprehend other individuals involved in the attack. The police stated that an investigation is ongoing.
In response to the incident, a group of protesters briefly blocked the Delhi-Ajmer National Highway but lifted their dharna late Thursday night.
