Mount Abu, 4th Oct. President Droupadi Murmu on Friday attended the Global Summit on ‘Spirituality for Clean and Healthy Society’, organized by the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya at Mount Abu.
In her address, the President emphasized that spirituality is not synonymous with religious practice or renunciation but is about recognizing inner strength and achieving purity in thoughts and actions. This purity, she added, is key to fostering balance, peace, and a healthy society.
Highlighting the need for physical, mental, and spiritual cleanliness, President Murmu remarked that holistic health comes from a clean mindset. She stressed the importance of right thinking, which influences emotional and mental well-being. By placing ourselves in others’ situations, she suggested, we can form fair opinions and contribute to social harmony.
The President explained that spirituality not only nurtures personal growth but also drives positive societal change. She emphasized its role in addressing broader issues such as sustainable development, environmental conservation, and social justice. Furthermore, she drew attention to the fleeting satisfaction derived from materialism and contrasted it with the deeper contentment found through spirituality, which fosters self-awareness and inner peace.
In today’s world, peace and unity are more crucial than ever, President Murmu noted, adding that teachings of yoga and spiritual institutions like Brahmakumaris can create lasting inner peace and promote positive societal change.
The summit focused on the significance of spirituality as a tool for creating a healthy, peaceful society, inspiring dialogue on how spiritual practices can address contemporary challenges.
