Seven of Family, Including Four Girls, Die as Car Falls into Canal in Kaithal

Kaithal, 12th Oct. In a tragic accident on Saturday, three women and four girls from the same family lost their lives when their car plunged into a canal near Mundri village in Kaithal district, police reported. The incident occurred as the family was en route to attend the Baba Rajpuri Mela, which is held during Dussehra celebrations.

The vehicle was carrying nine people, including eight family members, when the driver reportedly lost control, causing the car to veer off the road and into the canal. Although the driver was rescued, seven occupants, including four young girls, drowned in the incident. A 12-year-old girl named Komal remains missing, with search efforts underway, according to police.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his sorrow over the tragedy through a message on the social media platform X, describing the accident as “heart-rending.” He extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured that the local administration, under the guidance of the state government, is providing all necessary assistance.

The victims have been identified as Satwinder (50), Chameli (65), Teejo (45), Fiza (16), Vandana (10), Riya (10), and Ramandeep (6), all hailing from Deeg village in Kaithal. The community is in shock as rescue efforts continue to search for the missing child.
