Their top three—Smriti Mandhana, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, and Ellyse Perry—have contributed 316 of those runs at an average of 39.50 and a strike rate of 155.66. This is the most runs scored, best average, and best strike rate for any top three in WPL 2025.
It is clear that stopping these three is the key to beating RCB. But there is a catch—spinners have not been as effective against them as pacers.
Can UPW’s pacers step up?
So far, pacers have been more successful in dismissing RCB’s top three. In three matches, pacers have taken six wickets (two each of Mandhana, Wyatt, and Perry), while spinners have only managed two (one each of Smriti and Danni).
This could be a problem for UPW, as their pacers have struggled badly this season. They have taken just six wickets at an economy of 9.02—both the worst among all teams. In their last match at Chinnaswamy, Kranti Goud took a four-wicket haul, but the question remains: Can UPW’s pacers deliver consistently?
Chinelle Henry has made an impact with the bat but has struggled with the ball, picking up just one wicket while conceding 68 runs in two games.
