President Murmu Visits Siachen Base Camp, Pays Tribute to Fallen Soldiers

Siachen, 26th Sept. President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday visited the Siachen Base Camp, where she paid tribute to the soldiers and officers who have been martyred since the commencement of Operation Meghdoot on April 13, 1984. The President honored their sacrifice at the Siachen War Memorial, a symbol of the bravery and dedication of the Indian Army.

During her visit, President Murmu addressed the soldiers stationed at the base, expressing immense pride as the supreme commander of the armed forces. She acknowledged their unwavering commitment to defending the nation under extreme conditions, including temperatures as low as minus 50 degrees and heavy snowfall.

Highlighting the heroic efforts of the Indian Armed Forces, she remarked on their tireless vigilance in securing the region since 1984. The President assured the troops that the entire nation recognizes and deeply respects their sacrifice and bravery in protecting the motherland.
