Chhatarpur- President of India Droupadi Murmu graced a mass wedding ceremony organized by Shri Bageshwar Jan Seva Samiti in Gadha, Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday.
Addressing the gathering, President Murmu emphasized the importance of women-led development, urging society to strengthen and empower daughters and sisters. She stressed the need to focus on women’s education, health, and safety, stating that even small efforts in these areas contribute significantly to their empowerment. She also encouraged women to strive for education and self-reliance.
Highlighting India’s spiritual heritage, the President acknowledged the role of saints in guiding society and challenging social evils such as caste and gender discrimination. She cited figures like Guru Nanak, Sant Ravidas, Sant Kabir Das, Meera Bai, and Sant Tukaram, whose teachings have inspired people for generations.
President Murmu also noted that contemporary spiritual leaders have a vital role in fostering a self-reliant, harmonious, and eco-friendly India.
