Lucknow, 28th Sept. Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, in his valedictory speech at the 2nd Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS), highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in developing Uttar Pradesh, aiding the state’s journey towards a $1 trillion economy. Goyal credited the “double engine government” of the Centre and Uttar Pradesh for this growth trajectory, which he said would also contribute to India becoming a $35 trillion economy by 2047.

Goyal praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s policies, describing the state as a model of holistic development. He pointed out that the implementation of 4Ds—Decisive leadership, Demand, Demographic Dividend, and Democracy—has made Uttar Pradesh more investment-friendly.

He also celebrated the success of the Make in India program and announced that the anniversary of its launch will be commemorated annually alongside the UP International Trade Show. Goyal emphasized the state’s efforts in skill development, which has provided industries with a talented labor pool, reducing migration from the region.

The minister noted the increase in investments in Uttar Pradesh and the nation’s improved ranking in the Global Innovation Index and Ease of Doing Business Index. He stressed the importance of quality production, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of “Zero Defect, Zero Effect,” ensuring high-quality, sustainable products from India.
