New York, 24th Sept. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations in New York, focusing on the theme “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow.” Attended by global leaders, the summit aimed to foster collaborative global efforts for a sustainable future.
In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized India’s commitment to shaping a better world, representing one-sixth of humanity.
He called for a human-centric approach to global progress, noting India’s success in lifting 250 million people out of poverty in the last decade.
He expressed solidarity with the Global South, offering India’s development expertise and stressing the importance of balanced regulations for responsible technology use.
He reiterated India’s guiding principle of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” and advocated for reforms in global governance, including the UN Security Council.
The summit concluded with the adoption of “A Pact for the Future,” along with annexes on the Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations.
