New Delhi, 14th Sept. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamshedpur, Jharkhand on Sunday. During the visit, PM Modi is set to inaugurate several projects, including flagging off Vande Bharat Express trains.
Chouhan, who also serves as BJP’s election in-charge for the Jharkhand assembly polls, highlighted that the Centre has approved 113,400 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) for residents living in temporary ‘kutcha’ houses in the state. He noted that the central government has already transferred its share of funds to the state.
“Currently, only 20,000 approval letters have been issued by the state government. The necessary formalities need to be completed for the remaining houses,” Chouhan said. He added that for those beneficiaries who have completed their paperwork, Modi will release the first installment of funds for their homes with a single click.
Chouhan emphasized that Union Rural Development Department officials are working closely with their state counterparts to expedite the process. “Our goal is to ensure every poor household gets a permanent home,” he stated.
In addition to the housing initiative, PM Modi will flag off Vande Bharat Express trains connecting various destinations and address a large rally organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jamshedpur.
