Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack in New Orleans, which claimed the lives of at least 15 people. Terming the attack as “cowardly,” the Prime Minister expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, offering thoughts and prayers for those affected by the tragedy.
“We strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack in New Orleans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. May they find strength and solace as they heal from this tragedy,” the Prime Minister wrote in a post on X.

The attack, which occurred on New Year’s Day, left at least 15 people dead and many more injured when a U.S. Army veteran drove his truck into a crowd.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his condolences, highlighting the special bond between France and New Orleans. In a statement, Macron said, “New Orleans, so dear to the hearts of the French, has been struck by terrorism. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the injured, as well as with the American people, whose sorrow we share.”

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also extended his heartfelt support through a post on X. He wrote, “The news out of New Orleans this morning is horrifying. My heart is with the loved ones of the victims, those fighting to recover, and everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence.”
