New Delhi, 2nd Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the iconic leader of India’s freedom movement, on his birth anniversary.
In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted how Gandhi’s life and ideals of truth, harmony, and equality continue to inspire the nation.
Mahatma Gandhi, revered as the father of the nation, is celebrated for his unwavering commitment to truth and non-violence, influencing political leaders and activists globally.
PM Modi also honored India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who shares the same birth date. Modi praised Shastri’s dedication to the nation, particularly his service to soldiers and farmers.
The Prime Minister recalled Shastri’s famous slogan, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan,” and noted his simplicity and integrity, which continue to inspire respect.
