PM Modi Launches ₹23,300 Crore Agri and Animal Husbandry Initiatives in Maharashtra

Washim, 5th Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Washim, Maharashtra, launched several initiatives worth ₹23,300 crore focusing on the agricultural and animal husbandry sectors.

Key projects included the disbursement of ₹20,000 crore under the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi to benefit around 9.4 crore farmers and the launch of the 5th installment of the NaMo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana worth ₹2,000 crore.

The Prime Minister also dedicated 7,500 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), valued at ₹1,920 crore, and inaugurated 9,200 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) with a combined turnover of ₹1,300 crore.

Additionally, Modi introduced cutting-edge technology like the Unified Genomic Chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology to boost animal husbandry.

Among other notable initiatives, Modi launched five solar parks across Maharashtra with a total capacity of 19 MW under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, which aims to provide clean and sustainable energy to farmers.

During his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of supporting the Banjara community and inaugurated the Banjara Virasat Museum in Poharadevi.

Modi praised the resilience of the Banjara community and highlighted their contributions to India’s spiritual and cultural heritage.

He also called on the people of Maharashtra to unite against societal challenges, particularly drug addiction, and emphasized the government’s commitment to a “Viksit Bharat” by empowering farmers and rural communities.

Dignitaries at the event included Maharashtra Governor C P Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Rajiv Ranjan.
