India-Pakistan Relations
Addressing India’s strained relationship with Pakistan, PM Modi expressed disappointment over repeated failed peace efforts. He recounted how he extended multiple gestures of goodwill, including inviting Pakistan’s Prime Minister to his 2014 swearing-in and making a surprise visit to Lahore.
He pointed to Pakistan’s involvement in various terror attacks worldwide, including sheltering Osama bin Laden, as evidence of its state-sponsored extremism. Despite setbacks, he expressed hope that the Pakistani leadership would eventually choose a path of peace.
