New Delhi– Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the explosion at a firecracker factory in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, he announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while ₹50,000 will be given to those injured in the incident.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) shared the announcement on X, stating, “Deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the explosion at a firecracker factory in Banaskantha, Gujarat. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. May the injured recover soon. The local administration is assisting those affected.”
The PMO reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting victims and their families while ensuring local authorities provide necessary aid.
