New Delhi, 30th Sept. In the 114th edition of his Mann Ki Baat address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called on creators across India to unleash their creativity through the 25 ‘Create in India’ Challenges. Organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, these challenges aim to promote talent in various sectors, including gaming, animation, music, education, and film-making.
Highlighting the rapidly evolving job market, PM Modi noted, “In these changing times, the nature of jobs is changing, and new sectors are emerging such as gaming, animation, reel making, and film making. If you can perform well in any of these skills, your talent can get a very big platform.” He encouraged bands, community radio enthusiasts, and creative professionals to seize the opportunities available in these dynamic fields.
The challenges are designed to nurture and showcase India’s creative talents and provide a significant platform for emerging creators. Participants are urged to visit the website wavesindia.org for further information and to submit their entries.
The ‘Create in India Challenge – Season One’ was officially launched by Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw on August 22, 2024, in New Delhi. These challenges serve as a precursor to the upcoming World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES), scheduled from February 5 to 9, 2025, which aims to propel India’s Media & Entertainment Industry and boost the creator economy.
Through these initiatives, the government seeks to align with PM Modi’s vision of “Design in India, Design for the World,” first articulated during his 78th Independence Day address.
