In a departure statement, PM Modi underscored the deep-rooted historical, geographical, and cultural ties between India and Mauritius, calling the island nation a “close maritime neighbor, a key partner in the Indian Ocean, and a gateway to the African continent.” He emphasized that the relationship between the two nations is built on “deep mutual trust, shared democratic values, and the celebration of diversity.”
