New Delhi, 7th Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren on Monday to inquire about his health after Soren was hospitalized due to health complications. The senior BJP leader was admitted to Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur on Saturday, experiencing issues related to blood sugar.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi called up Champai Soren Ji this morning to inquire about his health and wished him a speedy recovery,” said a close aide of the former Chief Minister. Soren was admitted around 9 PM on Saturday after suffering from dizziness caused by a drop in blood sugar levels.
Thanking the Prime Minister for his call, Soren mentioned that he was feeling much better and hoped for a quick discharge from the hospital. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and JMM leaders also extended their well-wishes for the former CM’s recovery.
“I pray to Marang Buru (supreme tribal deity) to give Champai Da a speedy recovery. I also wish him a long life,” Chief Minister Hemant Soren posted on X. The JMM added, “We pray to Marang Buru that you come back to the field after getting well. Dada, do not let any worries trouble you. Many times we take on so much burden that it adversely impacts our health.”
Hospital officials confirmed that Soren’s condition is stable and improving. At 67, Soren joined the BJP in August, citing “disrespect” and “humiliation” within the JMM. He briefly served as Chief Minister starting February 2, following Hemant Soren’s resignation and subsequent arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case, before stepping down on July 3, paving the way for Hemant Soren’s return after being granted bail.
