Over 100 People Injured As Walkie-Talkies, Radios Explode Across Lebanon

Published:

Over 100 individuals have been injured due to a series of explosions caused by malfunctioning electronic devices in multiple regions, in Lebanon including Beirut’s southern suburbs on Wednesday, according to the Lebanon health ministry.

The explosions, which reportedly originated from walkie-talkies and handheld wireless radio devices, occurred in Hezbollah strongholds across the country.

The explosions come a day after a devastating series of pager detonations across the country, which claimed the lives of twelve people and injured over 2,800 others.

According to initial reports, the faulty electronic devices, including hand-held wireless radios and walkie-talkies, were purchased around five months ago, around the same time as the pagers.

Earlier, Hezbollah responded by accusing Israel of orchestrating the explosions that caused multiple casualties and widespread injuries. The militant group vowed retaliation, claiming the incidents were part of an Israeli attack.
