Netanyahu Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, Expresses Solidarity In Call With PM Modi

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday to express deep condolences and strong condemnation following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The assault, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, has drawn widespread global outrage.

According to a statement by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on social media platform X, PM Netanyahu strongly denounced the cross-border terrorist strike and conveyed solidarity with the people of India and the families of the victims. PM Modi, in response, described the attack as “barbaric” and reaffirmed India’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators and their backers to justice.

“PM @netanyahu of Israel called PM Modi and strongly condemned the terror attack on Indian soil. He expressed solidarity with the people of India, and the families of the victims. PM Modi shared the barbaric nature of the cross-border terrorist attack and reiterated India’s firm resolve to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice,” the MEA said in its statement.

The terror attack unfolded on Tuesday in the picturesque Baisaran meadow of Anantnag district, turning the popular tourist destination into a scene of horror and chaos. Several others were injured in the attack, which targeted civilians, sending shockwaves through the region and beyond.

On Wednesday, Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, also issued a strong condemnation. He assured India of unwavering support in its fight against terrorism and pledged deeper cooperation in areas such as intelligence sharing, counter-terror methodologies, and advanced technology.
