“Nations Must Prioritize Cyber-Security to Counter Emerging Threats,” says President Murmu

New Delhi, 1st Oct. The faculty and course members of the 64th National Defence College (NDC) Course called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

During her address, President Murmu highlighted the complexities of the current global geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the need for officers, both from civil and defence services, to be well-prepared for emerging challenges. She underscored the importance of leveraging technology and innovation as key factors in overcoming these challenges.

President Murmu noted that national security now extends beyond territorial integrity, covering economic, environmental, energy, and cyber security concerns. She stressed the significance of research and a comprehensive approach to address these modern-day security threats.

In particular, the President drew attention to the growing threat of cyber-attacks, calling for advanced technological solutions and a fortified digital infrastructure. She urged collaboration between civil services and the armed forces to build a secure national system capable of countering such threats, emphasizing the need for trained professionals in this field.

President Murmu concluded by urging officials to prioritize securing sensitive information within governance systems, recognizing the crucial role of digital infrastructure in national security.
