Bhopal, 11th Sep. The Madhya Pradesh government is set to launch its ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa – 2024 Abhiyan’, a major cleanliness campaign, on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The campaign will run until October 2, Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, announced Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during a meeting on Tuesday.
Centered around the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskar Swachhata’, the initiative aims to instill a sense of cleanliness in the community through various activities. “We will encourage people to engage in ‘shramdaan’—voluntary contributions of physical effort—to maintain clean surroundings,” Yadav stated.
The campaign will involve all levels of government, with ministers expected to participate in events within their districts and tailor activities to local needs. Additionally, new Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which provide affordable generic medicines, will also be inaugurated on September 17 as part of the campaign.
