He didn’t stop there – his fiery spell saw him claim the wickets of Rinku Singh and Manish Pandey in his second over before sending the dangerous Andre Russell back in his third. Finishing with remarkable figures of 4/24 in just three overs, Ashwani played the all-important role in restricting KKR to a mere 116 runs, shattering records along the way.
His stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award, and he was visibly elated after the game.

“It’s a huge moment for me to receive this opportunity and be named Man of the Match. I come from a small village in Mohali district, and this journey has taken immense hard work. By God’s grace, I’m here. I had confidence in my abilities, but there’s always some nervousness before a debut. Mumbai Indians had a minor hiccup in their chase, losing impact player Rohit Sharma for 13 and Will Jacks for 16. However, Ryan Rickelton’s unbeaten 62, complemented by Suryakumar Yadav’s blistering 27*, ensured MI cruised past the target with 43 balls to spare.
