Kolkata, 14th Sept. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday evening appealed to agitating junior doctors, who arrived at her residence, to join the scheduled meeting regarding their protest over the RG Kar Medical College incident. The doctors had demanded live-streaming of the talks, which Banerjee declined, citing the ongoing court proceedings.

“I request you all to come inside and attend the meeting. Since the matter is before the court, live streaming cannot be allowed. However, I will video-record the meeting and provide a copy after Supreme Court permission,” Banerjee said, urging the doctors not to stay outside in the rain.

Expressing her disappointment, Banerjee added, “I have been waiting for this meeting, but you are insulting me by not joining. On three earlier occasions, I waited, but you did not attend.”

The meeting, aimed at resolving the ongoing protest, was yet to start as of Saturday evening.
