New Delhi, 2nd Oct. President Droupadi Murmu paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti, marking his 155th birth anniversary. In her message, the President expressed gratitude on behalf of all citizens to the Father of the Nation, honoring his lifelong dedication to truth and non-violence.
President Murmu highlighted Gandhi’s relentless efforts to eradicate untouchability, illiteracy, poor sanitation, and other social evils. She also praised his unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment and his focus on uplifting the most vulnerable. Gandhi’s principles of moral integrity and ethics-based conduct, she noted, have influenced leaders worldwide.
Concluding her message, President Murmu urged the nation to embrace Gandhi’s values of truth, non-violence, and purity, and to work towards the vision of India that he had dreamed of, fostering continuous progress and development for society.
