Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) put up a clinical performance at their home ground, Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by an emphatic 80-run margin.

Here are the top three highlights from today’s KKR vs SRH clash in the IPL 2025

Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh’s Game-Changing Partnership

After a solid start from Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Venkatesh Iyer and Rinku Singh put on a 91-run stand, taking KKR’s total to 200/6 in 20 overs. Venkatesh, who KKR bought for a hefty price tag, proved his worth with a blistering 60 off 29 balls. Rinku played a quickfire knock of 32 off 17 balls.

SRH’s batting struggles in three consecutive matches

SRH’s batting lineup has struggled, except for their first match. In their second game, they posted 190/9, which Lucknow Super Giants chased down comfortably in 16.1 overs. In their third match, they managed only 163 before getting all out, and Delhi Capitals wrapped up the chase in 16 overs. On both occasions, it seemed that based on those tracks, they failed to score big. Today, after KKR set a target of 201, SRH’s batting collapsed like a house of cards, getting all out for just 120.

Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy shine with the ball

Vaibhav Arora, who was having a rough IPL, produced a dream spell at the top of SRH’s innings. He dismissed the explosive opener Travis Head, followed by Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen. Varun Chakaravarthy also contributed, taking the key wickets of Aniket Varma, Pat Cummins, and Simarjeet Singh. Vaibhav was adjudged Player of the Match, finishing with figures of 3/29.
