New Delhi, 4th Oct. Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated his official residence at 6, Flagstaff Road on Friday, relocating to a new address in the Lutyens’ Zone. Accompanied by his wife and son, Kejriwal was seen departing in a car, while his parents and daughter followed in another vehicle.

The Kejriwal family is heading to the official residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member Ashok Mittal, located at 5 Ferozeshah Road near Mandi House. Mittal, a Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, has been allocated this bungalow in central Delhi.

Kejriwal had resigned as Chief Minister last month, stating he would only return to the post after receiving a “certificate of honesty” from the people of Delhi in the upcoming Assembly elections scheduled for February. He expressed his intention to vacate the chief minister’s residence during the auspicious Navratri period, which began on Thursday.

The BJP has accused the activist-turned-politician of corruption related to the excise policy and the renovation of the Chief Minister’s bungalow. Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on September 13 after spending five months there, following a Supreme Court-approved bail related to the excise policy case.
