Kejriwal Questions RSS on BJP’s Electoral Practices

Published:

New Delhi, January 1, 2025, In a bold political move, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal has addressed an open letter to Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), challenging the organization’s silence on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) alleged unethical election practices. Kejriwal accused the BJP of resorting to vote buying and suppressing voter rights, particularly targeting marginalized groups such as Dalits and Purvanchalis.

Kejriwal’s letter has sparked fresh controversy, as it directly questions the ideological and moral authority of the RSS, often regarded as the BJP’s ideological mentor. He asked whether the RSS condones such practices, calling for Bhagwat to take a public stand on the issue.

In response, the BJP dismissed Kejriwal’s accusations, countering with allegations of their own. Party spokespersons accused the AAP leader of engaging in deceit and manipulation, labeling his open letter as a political stunt designed to divert attention from his own governance challenges and controversies.

This exchange highlights the growing tensions between the AAP and BJP, as both parties gear up for key elections in 2025. The feud also underscores the intensifying scrutiny of electoral integrity and the broader debate on ethical politics in India.

While the RSS has yet to respond to Kejriwal’s letter, the development raises questions about the role of ideological organizations in moderating the conduct of their affiliated political entities. The issue could become a focal point for public debate as the election season approaches.
