New Delhi, 24th Jan. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar hailed Karpoori Thakur as the “Messiah of Social Justice” while addressing a memorial event on the 101st birth anniversary of the former Chief Minister of Bihar. Speaking at the gathering, the Vice President highlighted Thakur’s pivotal role in breaking societal barriers and advancing equality.
“Karpoori Thakur initiated an era of equality, overcoming centuries of stagnation and unlocking opportunities for marginalized communities. He dedicated his life to uplifting those ignored by society,” Dhankhar said.
He further emphasized Thakur’s incorruptible character, stating, “Karpoori Thakur never promoted dynastic politics, prioritized social justice over personal gain, and rose above caste, religion, and class to bring transformative development.”
Dhankhar also recognized Thakur’s bold decisions as a statesman. “Implementing reservations despite opposition was a milestone. He championed the use of Hindi in governance, making education up to matriculation free, and envisioned progress that benefits generations to come.”
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Dr. Harivansh. The legacy of Shri Karpoori Thakur was celebrated as an enduring inspiration for social and political reform.
