Srinagar, 16th Sept. The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday alerted the public about a fake Facebook account impersonating Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Anand Jain of the Jammu zone. Authorities advised citizens to exercise caution and report any suspicious online activity.

In an official statement, the police emphasized the importance of engaging only with verified social media handles of the Jammu and Kashmir Police for any official information. A thorough investigation is currently underway, and strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for creating the fraudulent account.
“It has come to our notice that a fake Facebook account has been generated using the name of ADGP Jammu zone, Anand Jain. This is a serious violation and an attempt to mislead the public,” the statement read.
The police have stressed that cyber offenses are treated with the utmost seriousness and have urged the public to report any suspicious accounts or activity.
“We also urge citizens not to engage with or follow any such fraudulent accounts. For any official communication or information, please refer to the verified and legitimate social media accounts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police,” the statement added.
