Israel is on high alert after Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting the country late Tuesday night, according to the Israeli military. Civilians across Israel have taken refuge in bomb shelters as the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) brace for further escalation.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed the missile strikes, citing the IDF, and issued a warning to citizens via a post on social media platform X. “A short while ago, missiles were launched from Iran towards the State of Israel. Israelis are instructed to remain alert and precisely follow the Home Front Command’s instructions,” the ministry announced.

In response to the unprecedented attack, the IDF activated emergency protocols across the country, urging all Israeli civilians to follow safety measures closely. “All Israeli civilians are in bomb shelters as rockets from Iran are fired at Israel. Approximately 10 million civilians are the targets of Iranian projectiles,” the Israeli military stated.

Earlier in another incident, a shooting in Israel’s commercial hub of Tel Aviv left multiple casualties on Tuesday, according to Israeli police. Gunmen reportedly opened fire near the boundary with Jaffa, sending shockwaves through the city as emergency responders rushed to the scene.
