Guwahati, 14th Oct. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, slated for a second swearing-in on October 17, accused the Congress of engaging in “politics of lies” during an address at the Assam BJP headquarters on Monday. He claimed that the public is increasingly aware of this deception, leading to the Congress’s diminishing influence across the country.
Saini, who paid respects at the Kamakhya Temple before the event, asserted that the Congress gained power in states like Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana by spreading falsehoods. He emphasized, “The Congress’s politics of lies cannot last long. Their deceit is no longer acceptable to the people, who have shown them the door in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and now Haryana.” He added that the public “only believes in Modi’s guarantee.”
Addressing the BJP’s achievements, Saini highlighted the party’s support for farmers, stating that the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for the agricultural sector over the last decade surpassed what “seven generations of Congress” could achieve. He also noted efforts to ensure greater participation of Haryana households in the defence services, praising initiatives like Agniveer and enhanced facilities for armed personnel.
On sports, Saini emphasized the establishment of a sports university in Haryana aimed at training athletes to compete at national and international levels under the “Khelo India” program. He praised the BJP-led “double engine government” in Assam under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, predicting continued BJP dominance in the state through the 2026 elections.
Earlier in the day, Saini and his wife visited the Kamakhya Temple, offering prayers to mark the BJP’s victory in Haryana, continuing a tradition they started before the recent assembly elections.
