Kohima, 22nd Oct. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, conducted a review of 29 National Highway (NH) projects in Nagaland on October 21, 2024. The meeting was attended by Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang, along with Ministers of State for Road Transport & Highways, Ajay Tamta and Harsh Malhotra.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Gadkari highlighted the progress made on these projects, which span a total of 545 kilometers across the state. He emphasized the need for accelerated infrastructure development in Nagaland, focusing on sustainable and cost-effective mobility solutions. “These initiatives will greatly enhance connectivity, drive local economic growth, and contribute to the region’s deeper integration into India’s overall development,” he stated.
Gadkari also noted that the transformation of Nagaland’s highways is pivotal, saying, “Nagaland’s highways are transforming into lifelines of growth, driven by PM Narendra Modi’s vision. A future of connectivity, prosperity, and progress unfolds with every new road.”
The review is part of a broader initiative to assess National Highway projects across the North-Eastern states, with Nagaland being one of the key focus areas. Gadkari’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure is expected to significantly impact the local economy and improve the quality of life for residents.
