Farewell, Dr Manmohan Singh: Former PM Cremated With Full State Honours, Thousands Pay Tribute

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh cremated with full state honours at Nigambodh Ghat on Saturday. He passed away on December 26 at the age of 92.  

Several Congress leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi , participated in Singh’s final procession, paying their tributes to the man credited with shaping India’s economic reforms.  

Earlier in the morning, Manmohan Singh’s mortal remains were kept at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters for party leaders, workers, and the public to pay their respects.  

Singh’s wife, Gursharan Kaur, and his daughters offered their final tributes at the AICC headquarters. Congress leaders such as Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh, and Gaurav Gogoi also gathered to bid farewell to the former Prime Minister.  

Manmohan Singh, a two-time prime minister, is remembered as an eminent economist, a consensus-builder, and a statesman who played a pivotal role in India’s economic liberalization.
