Encounter If Necessary, You Have Full Freedom”: Bihar Deputy CM on ASI’s Murder in Munger

Published:

Patna/Munger: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha issued a strong statement following the brutal killing of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Munger, asserting that the police have full freedom to take strict action, including encounters, if required.

Speaking on the law-and-order situation in the state, Sinha said:

“Criminals should be dealt with in the language they understand. If an encounter is necessary, go ahead—there is full freedom to act against crime.”

The remarks came after an ASI was shot dead in Munger during an operation against local criminals. The incident has sparked outrage, with opposition parties questioning the state government’s handling of crime.

The Deputy CM emphasized that the government will not tolerate rising criminal activities and will take decisive action. He assured that those responsible for the ASI’s murder would be brought to justice swiftly.

The murder of a police officer has intensified the debate on Bihar’s law and order situation, with critics pointing out rising crime rates in the state. Meanwhile, BJP leaders have backed Sinha’s tough stance, saying that a strong message must be sent to criminals.

With Bihar’s political landscape already witnessing tensions post the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, this incident is likely to further fuel discussions on policing strategies and governance in the state.
