Elon Musk Spent $270 Million To Help Donald Trump Win US Presidency: Reports

Published:

Elon Musk, the tech billionaire and CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has reportedly spent at least $270 million to support Donald Trump’s presidential campaign, making him the largest political donor in the U.S.

This support included funding door-to-door operations and speaking at rallies for Trump. According to federal filings, Musk’s contributions surpass any single political donor since 2010, including Tim Mellon, a top Trump supporter who previously donated nearly $200 million.

Musk donated $238 million to the America PAC, a political action committee he founded to support Trump, and an additional $20 million to the RBG PAC, which ran ads aimed at softening Trump’s stance on abortion. Since Trump’s victory, Musk has remained a key ally, even inviting Trump to a SpaceX rocket launch in Texas.

Musk’s new role in Trump’s administration involves advising on the Department of Government Efficiency, where he and Trump plan to cut billions in federal spending. However, his position has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest due to his businesses’ ties to both U.S. and foreign governments.

Musk has also supported other figures close to him for positions in the administration, such as investor David Sacks, who has been nominated as the “AI and crypto czar,” and billionaire astronaut Jared Isaacman, who has been named head of NASA.
