New Delhi, 12th Sept. Early Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) launched search operations at multiple locations linked to individuals associated with Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Hospital, who was recently arrested in connection with alleged financial irregularities at the medical institution.

The raids targeted the residence of Chandan Louhya in Kolkata’s Tala area and an office in Kalindi. Additionally, another ED team conducted searches at Ghosh’s ancestral home in Chinar Park, North 24 Parganas district.
The ED official revealed that Louhya and his wife are currently being questioned. Louhya’s wife had reportedly received preferential treatment from Ghosh in the awarding of a tender.
Investigators are also examining documents at an office of a company that previously supplied equipment to RG Kar Hospital, amid concerns over questionable transactions between the hospital and this company.
The ED, in coordination with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), is pursuing a parallel investigation into the financial misconduct at the state-run hospital.
The CBI had previously arrested Ghosh along with three accomplices in relation to the case.
