Bengaluru, 19th Oct. The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) continued its raids at the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) office for the second consecutive day on Saturday, investigating alleged corruption linked to the allotment of 14 sites to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, B.M. Parvathi, in Mysuru.
Officials have restricted access to the MUDA premises, barring outsiders from entering. The central probe agency, accompanied by a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) team, has been conducting searches at the MUDA office, its Tehsil office, and the premises of an accused individual, Devaraju, located in Kengeri, Bengaluru, since Friday morning.
Sources indicate that the searches were initiated after the ED sent multiple inquiries to MUDA, seeking clarification on over three dozen questions regarding land acquisition and allotment policies. The agency reportedly did not receive a satisfactory response.
On September 30, the ED filed an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) against the Chief Minister and others, following cognizance taken from a Lokayukta FIR. The allegations revolve around illegalities in the allotment of prime sites in Mysuru to Parvathi by the MUDA.
