EAM Jaishankar Meets New Zealand PM Christopher Luxon

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar met with New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon in New Delhi on Sunday, marking the beginning of Luxon’s official visit to India.

Jaishankar, in a statement after the meeting, lauded Luxon’s dedication to deepening India-New Zealand relations. He also welcomed the New Zealand leader’s participation as the chief guest at the upcoming Raisina Dialogue 2025, India’s premier geopolitical and economic forum.

Luxon arrived in Delhi earlier in the day and was received by Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, SP Singh Baghel. His visit will include high-level engagements, including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House on Monday. The two leaders are expected to witness the signing of key MoUs to boost cooperation in areas such as trade, education, and technology.

The New Zealand Prime Minister will also be the keynote speaker at the Raisina Dialogue, which will be held from March 17-19 in New Delhi. With the theme “Kalachakra – People, Peace, and Planet,” the 2025 edition will bring together global leaders to discuss pressing international challenges. The conference will be inaugurated by PM Modi on March 17.

As part of his visit, Luxon will also meet President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, further cementing diplomatic ties between the two nations. His visit is expected to open new avenues for collaboration, reinforcing India-New Zealand relations on the global stage.
