Ahead of tomorrow’s KKR vs LSG clash at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, LSG spinner Digvesh Rathi was seen meeting his idol, KKR star Sunil Narine, during a practice session. Both KKR and LSG shared videos of the moment, where Digvesh and Narine were seen talking and smiling, with other players like Ravi Bishnoi, Nicholas Pooran, and Rishabh Pant also present.
Digvesh has been a long-time admirer of Narine. After winning the Player of the Match award against Mumbai Indians (MI) in LSG’s last game, he spoke about Narine during the post-match presentation. He said: “I saw Sunil Narine bowl and since then I’ve loved bowling. I want to make my mindset more attacking like his. Like he takes pressure for the team.”

Digvesh Rathi has claimed six wickets in four matches so far in IPL 2025
Despite his growing success, Digvesh has also made headlines this season for his unique ‘writing in my notebook’ celebration. He has already been fined in two matches (25% of match fees vs Punjab Kings and 50% of match fees vs MI) and received two demerit points for it.
In the viral video, Nicholas Pooran is seen asking Digvesh why he celebrates like that, especially when his idol Narine is known for being calm and rarely shows emotions—even after hitting boundaries or taking wickets. Digvesh’s reply made everyone laugh as he simply said, “Because I’m from Delhi.”
So far, Digvesh has impressed with six wickets in four matches. Now, under the Eden Gardens lights, fans of both teams will be eager to see how the fanboy performs against his hero.
