Tirupati, 5th Oct. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that devotees visiting the Lord Venkateswara temple on Tirumala hills have expressed satisfaction regarding the quality of the ‘laddu prasadam.’ Speaking to the media after inaugurating the Vakulaamatha centralized kitchen established by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Naidu highlighted the government’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the sacred offerings.

To ensure the quality of the laddu prasadam, the TTD plans to set up laboratories for checking the quality of ingredients. If necessary, they may also consult the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Tirupati for suggestions on improving processes related to prasadam preparation.

Naidu’s comments come in the wake of allegations against the previous YSR Congress regime regarding the use of adulterated ghee in making laddu prasadam, a claim that has been dismissed by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“Several people expressed happiness with the laddu quality. We’ve seen incidents where devotees were dissatisfied with the offerings, leading to public agitation, which is not auspicious,” Naidu remarked, emphasizing that his administration will not tolerate any issues regarding purity.

The CM further stated that the TTD is dedicated to protecting the sanctity of Lord Balaji and is focused on incorporating feedback from devotees. He urged TTD officials to ensure that only the highest quality ingredients are used in preparing sacred offerings.

Naidu also proposed reducing VIP culture at the temple to prevent overcrowding during celebrity visits and stressed the need for simple, spiritual decorations to minimize unnecessary expenditures. He emphasized that the voices of devotees should be considered in all temple matters.

In his review meeting with TTD officials, Naidu advised them to increase the forest area in Tirumala from 72% to 80% and ensured that only the phrase “Govinda namam” should resonate on the hills.

The CM concluded his visit by offering “Pattu Vastralu” (silk robes) on behalf of the state government to Lord Venkateswara during the first day of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams. Additionally, he launched the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams calendar and diary for 2025.
