New Delhi, 15th Oct. Chief Minister Atishi will review the air pollution situation in the national capital at a high-level meeting on Tuesday afternoon, officials said. Scheduled for 12 noon, the meeting will include Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai and top officials from various departments.

This comes after the Centre’s air pollution control panel directed state governments in the Delhi-NCR region to implement Stage I of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Monday. The move follows the capital’s air quality remaining in the ‘poor’ category for the second consecutive day.

GRAP Stage I includes measures like checks on polluting vehicles, improved traffic management, and emission controls for industries, power plants, and brick kilns. It also restricts open burning, diesel generator use, and prohibits coal or firewood in eateries.

Additionally, the Delhi government imposed a ban on the sale and use of firecrackers until January 1, 2025, anticipating a decline in air quality during the winter season.
